Preserving the Wild Skies of Yorkshire.
Our mission is to safeguard birds of prey and prevent their illegal persecution in the National Landscape.
We support the implementation of the national Wildlife Crime Strategy, so as to end the illegal killing and disturbance of birds of prey and other wildlife by 2028.
The Yorkshire Dales are home to some of the UK’s most spectacular and prized birds of prey.
The history of birds of prey in the Yorkshire Dales is marked by both success and challenges, with populations of certain species fluctuating due to factors like habitat loss, persecution, and pesticide use. While some species like peregrine falcons have seen a recovery, others, particularly hen harriers, continue to face threats.
